Do companies in the USA offer graduate positions? Do companies in the USA offer graduate positions? in Australia a lot of big companies will offer graduate positions to graduating and recently graduated students(generally at the start of the year) and applications must be in about 9 months before. and they offer more training and experience in the work place, while still on a generally good wage. and last between one to two years. so does the usa have things like this. and if so are they only open to us citizens?
Graduate Nurse Positions in the Chicago-land Area? Graduated some 10 yrs ago but never took my boards. Upon graduation I received a job offer I couldn't refuse so I put my RN career on hold. Now I've taken a remedial course and studying to sit for my licensure exam. I was wondering where can I apply for a graduate nurse position to gain some clinical experience?
What positions are there in the military, for a college graduate with a bachelors of science? I always played with the idea of joining the military, army in general. My parents want me to join as civilian, but with no experience and no grade level, it would seem the best choice would be to join as an officer, but is that my only options? What other choices are there? I would prefer not getting sent to Iraq, or getting shot at, but that seems to come with the job. Degree is BS in Electronic Engineering Techo. I would want to persue further education but thats after I get the job I want.
what are university people like at interviews are they confident especially for graduate positions? My friend has gone for an interview for a job which is specifically aimed at graduates and was just wondering what are her chances. As she didnt go to uni like the rest but obtained a grade provided by work training. Its for senior trainee management faststream positions. 40 people are being interviewd and there are 17-20 jobs going. She had to do a number of tests before getting the interview which was scenario based. I am only asking as university people seem pretty hot at interviews so the competition will be high surely. The jobs are for senior management trainee positions and

How hard currently is it to find a graduate position at an Architecture firm in the USA (e.g. California/New York)? - for graduates of US universities 2. How disadvantaged would I be having an overseas degree - I would be looking for an entry level position and relatively low salary
When should I start looking for graduate work? And what type (and how) of work should I be looking for? I graduate from a Fine Art Painting degree this June - I am expected to get a 2.1/1st and attend a very well respected art institution. However, I am aware of the downfalls of becoming a practising artist (until a reputation is built up it is not the most reliable of salaries) and am interested in getting a graduate position of some kind (and let's face it, with the difficulties of finding a job, any would do) to clear the debts I've incurred as a student and to settle myself before deciding what to do later. How soon should I start looking though? And what type of work should I be looking for/would be interested in me? I am very much used to the 9-5 hours as studio work is just that; and I previously worked as an Admin Assistant and a receptionist/society tutor in the holidays. Thanks.

How can a Biology graduate gain lab experience? Hi. I'm looking for work in plant/biomedical research ideally. I graduated with a 2:1 in Biological Sciences from a UK university last July and have been applying for jobs non-stop since then - only 9 interviews, and rejected by all so far. My interview feedback suggests this is due partly to lack of lab experience (even though I don't apply for jobs that have experience as an essential). How do I get any? It's a vicious circle... most lab jobs require experience, can't get it without a lab job.... I'm signed up to nearly every science recruitment agency going, have contacted all science graduates/people in the industry I know, and am applying for "low-level" less skilled lab tech jobs as well as graduate positions. Can anybody help me? Are there any MSc's which are particularly valued by employers? Would hospitals/universities take me on unpaid work experience? What do you suggest is my next step? I don't want to give up my dream, but I can't be an office temp for another year.
Job position for graduate building surveyor? What kinds of position can a graduate building surveyor apply in UK? i had internship experience as quantity surveyor and now working as a quantity surveyor as well. How to become a graduate assistant? I am a college student who played High School football, but due to my current major (education) am unable to get a job as a manager, how would you recommend I go about trying to get a graduate assistant position in the future? I know a lot about the game, managed baseball in high school, head football coach was a DIII head coach and is a top notch PA football coach (don't know if any of these would help)
How can economics graduate compete with engineering graduates taking managerial fields? When I checked Yohanes H's answer in previous question, I was stunned that OMG almost all good Indonesian companies are lead by ITB graduates. I ask my mom who works in BNI and she said that even in BNI many important positions are hold by ITB graduates and it is foreseen that in the future the position of Directors in BNI (and some other top banks) may be placed by ITB graduates because their numbers in GM/VP positions now are so many - almost 40% while IPB graduates 20% and the rest who came from economics only about 40% from various universities, and economicsUI only about 10%. Why managerial positions placed by ITB graduates not by economics (management/accounting) from UI, Unpad, Unpar, UGM? If ITB graduates place managerial positions then where management graduates seek job. I think it is not fair... It's like IPA students who can enter social majors while IPS students can't enter science majors. Why MBA courses permit engineering students who don't have degree to enter Here are some ITB graduates who are directors in banks: Bien Soebiantoro,Kemal Ranadireksa, Tjahjana Tjakrawinata directors of BNI, Dian Angreniwati Soerarso CFO of Niaga, and many others in Mandiri, BCA, and BRI
What do i after graduate school psych major? i am only in my first year in college and i am majoring in psychology. i sometimes wonder how difficult it is to get a psychologist position after graduate school. for those who are actually employed as psychologists, how is your workplace/working environment setup?
As a recent college graduate, should I be selective in my jobhunting or just take any entry-level position? I recently graduated with bachelors of science degree. Everyone tells me I'm being to selective in my jobhunting. I search for entry-level positions -- positions I feel offers not only a decent salary but good learning/growth opportunities. There is nothing wrong with account coordinating positions -- but I feel I should at least go into a positions in more specific departments. Am I being too picky? Its been over 5 months of jobhunting. Everyone tells me I should just take any job for just experience.
What happens if somebody in the graduate school don't answer your emails? OK, you were emailing normally to some person in the graduate school in which you are trying to apply. Then in "X" moment that person didn't answer anymore your emails, so you decided to email to his boss but you didn't receive response either. What is happening?? Should you contact people in higher positions such as the college of graduate students regarding this problem?? If so, in which terms should be the communication with the higher superiors about these complains.
How can I list work-study positions at a college I didn't graduate from? I had to transfer schools a couple of times due to family illnesses, etc during college... At the first school I attended, I had a couple of fairly impressive work-study positions (HR office aide, library assistant). I want to list these, but I would really prefer not to reveal that they were at a different school than the one I graduated from... I'm afraid that would open the door for too many sticky questions during an interview. I don't want to lie either and actually state that these positions were at the school I graduated from. Would it be alright or acceptable to list work study positions under the education portion of my resume and leave out the institution and dates? Up yours Pat. Everyone tries to present themself in the best light on a resume. A successful resume is one that gets you an interview. Period. And nothing I have asked about or suggested is lying... so go kick rocks.
What kind of positions can I get with an ADN in Nursing? I am considering joining the Associates in Nursing program at my community college, and I was wondering what positions would be available to me when I graduate. I know that in order to get a speciality you would need a BSN, so what jobs would be available? Could I work in a private doctors office? A hospital? What jobs could one expect with a BSN?
Are there graduate assistantships available starting in winter term? I realize the answer to this question will vary from school to school, but generally, if a student begins their masters program in the winter term (as opposed to the fall term), will there be potential graduate assistantships available for them apply to? Or are all positions filled at the start of the year? I ask because I won't be starting my graduate program until the winter term and am ineligible to apply to the assistantships this coming fall term. Thanks in advance!
How come a college drop out get the same or maybe higher position than a college graduate? I've noticed a changed in corperate america. I have a buddy who is a college drop out and a buddy who doesnt even go to college and just go straight to work out of HS. They worked in a Mortgage company. One of them become an Escrow Office making really good money. I saw a guy in my company who got a college degree and just got hired for loan processing. If you dont know what loan processing is, it's just no brainer job sorting documents. A college drop out having a better job then a college graduate? Amazing. A guy can go straight out of highschool and work for a Mortgage company going through temp agencies. So does it mean a college degree is irrelevant?

Does it make any difference in the long run if you graduate from an Ivy League university or not? Are people who graduate from Ivy League universities more likely to get better positions and make higher salaries than people who don't graduate from Ivy League universities? Or does it really not make much difference? Say for instance, would a doctor or lawyer who graduated from Harvard make more money in the long run and get hired faster than a doctor or lawyer who graduated from just an average university?
What to wear to a graduate assistantship interview? I am interviewing with the Associate Dean of my college for an Ombudsperson position. What oppotunities are available for a recent graduate? Hi I recently graduated from uni and have found that jobs relating to my degree are very hard to come by, and positions are easily filled by unemployed people who have been in the industry and had a lot more experience than a recent graduate. I would love to go into further education but I can't afford too and I have tried getting a job in retail etc, but as I have no previous experience I keep getting rejected also. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

Whats the best way to get a graduate job? and why is it so hard?!? I graduated this June and went straight into a graduate position that didnt suit me. So I quit, silly I know, especially seeing as I didnt have a back up and now I am fully unemployed. My hopes have faded and Im not sure if I'll be good working for anyone. I feel really useless and almost on the brink of depression. I dont wanna be a bum, I loved working, the freedom, the hard work, everything. But now I am so scared that Im going to get rejected from good companies that I dont even try. I cant even get the dole as I voluntarily left the last job. For all you former graduates who are high flying and happy...how did you do it? I got a 2.2 in my business degree and feel its a major set back for me. Can I ever get a good job with this grade? I was 2 marks away from a 2.1 and it will forever haunt me! I just need a little advice, especially from you ex grads. Thanks ever so much! Disheartened in London x

Human Resource positions for recent college graduate without experiences? I will be graduating in May 2008 with a BA in Business Administration, Human Resource Emphasis. I have no experiences in the HR field, and have a short working history in the field of customer service (about a year as a computer lab assistant and 6 months in test proctoring at my school) I've been trying to look for an internship, but there's no luck. Hardly anyone offers an internship in HR in Utah for some reason. When I look up jobs on job finder websites (monsters, UTworkforce services, classifieds, craigslist etc), even for the entry jobs, they want at least 6 months to 1 year of experiences. I don't know how to get my foot into the HR field, and I'm very worried. Do you have any suggestions, advises or want to share experiences? Thank you! PS This is probably not helpful but I'm fluent in English and Mandarin.
