As a recent college graduate, should I be selective in my jobhunting or just take any entry-level position?
I recently graduated with bachelors of science degree. Everyone tells me I'm being to selective in my jobhunting. I search for entry-level positions -- positions I feel offers not only a decent salary but good learning/growth opportunities. There is nothing wrong with account coordinating positions -- but I feel I should at least go into a positions in more specific departments. Am I being too picky? Its been over 5 months of jobhunting. Everyone tells me I should just take any job for just experience.

- well just my opinion - i would take an entry level position BUT continue to look for something better, not only to allow me to earn a wage but also it looks better on a resume if u have no large gaps where u've been unemployed. That said, i had a friend who refused to take just any entry level position and like yourself she waited until she found a position she really wanted. she works in human resources, and it took her about 9/10mths after uni to find this job...so it really depends on yourself, are u willing to wait it out, can u afford to wait it out, and also how good a degree have u got? if u have a good one then i guess u can afford to be more fussy, but if its not so good, then take an entry level and build up your experience. good luck
- Don't just take any job, but do be reasonable about your expectations. At this point you need experience. Don't worry about the learning and growth opportunities at the first company because you can always get a job somewhere else in 5 years to get that experience on your resume.
