University Graduates

Can you still be considered a graduate and apply for graduate jobs even though you graduated 12 years ago?

i cheekily applied for a job and got an interview. Graduated from Uni in 1996.

  1. meh, why not... "graduate job = low pay job" so they wont care who applies
  2. Don't know about the UK, but in the US it is illegal to discriminate in hiring against those over 40 years old. New graduates = covert discrimination. Good for you and knock them dead on the interview!
  3. YES, IT DOESN'T MATTER WHEN YOU GRADUATED FROM COLLEGE. AS LONG AS YOU GRADUATED.
  4. Well if you got an interview, then clearly the answer is yes!
  5. errrr.... you are still a graduate..... as long as you have graduated from uni you will always until your dying day be a graduate!!!
  6. I'd say that for a job advert, a graduate job is one where they are looking for a recent graduate. One where they pay quite a bit less and maybe have a graduate training scheme that lasts maybe several years, If you like the sound of the job then why can't you apply for it?
