What is the average university students pay from a casual job in Melbourne?
Just a rough estimate would do. Could you also tell me about how you earned money and how many hours university students generally work? Thanks!

- The universities tend to recommend that you do no more than 10 or so hours a week. I'll tell you now, that's a load of crap. Not nearly enough to support you. I was working shift-work, anywhere from about 15 (bad week) to about 35 hours a week, on excellent pay of about $20 an hour. That's a lot. Most jobs will pay at least a few dollars less, sometimes around $14 or so. Cash in hand jobs usually pay around that, but won't give you the hours you need.
- A casual unskilled job should pay around $18 an hour. However if you are under 21 this will be a bit less as you will be on junior wages. The hours that university students work vary dramatically depending on type of job and financial situation, but most people work 2-3 days a week, probably 15-20 hours.
- It will depend on your course as they vary dramatically in how many contact hours you have. In some courses you can manage to work 20+ hours, in others it may only be half that. Minimum adult casual rate is about $16.50, less if you're under 21
- well most melbourne people beg for money or scab from centre link because they are bogans
